Dinosol gets to reduce its CO2 emissions

Besides saving two million Euros on its electric bill

· With the installation of 122 automatic capacitors banks of Aener Energia

Madrid, February 2, 2011 - The food distribution group named Dinosol has reduced the impact of CO2 emissions over half a ton and saves 2 million Euros on its electric bill by installing 122 automatic capacitor banks of Aener Energia. These automatic capacitor banks create a capacitive reactive power and annul the inductive one, which is punished and this way the electric bill is more expensive.

For Dinosol, the care and protection of the environment have been one of its key principle. Without going any further, this project has got a reduction of more than half a ton of CO2 or, what is the same, Dinosol has got to save the contamination of 265 cars driving around a year*.

The project carried out for Dinosol was conducted in two phases: in the first one, 68 of the 122 automatic capacitor banks were installed, the second phase, the remaining 54 units. In addition, it is currently conducting a third, pending execution, which will further increase the cost saving and CO2 emissions. Each capacitor has a payback period close to the year, but these equipments, which have been installed, have a life expectancy of 10 years.

The reduction of CO2 emissions, thank energy efficiency project of AENER-Dinosol, would be equal to plant 91.440 trees, about 230 hectares of forest (around of seven times the mass of trees of Madrid's Retiro park).
