Automatic capacitor banks of AENER Energia reduce the charge for the use of reactive power

-          With the installation of these equipments at the Galician headquarters of this U.S. company, the electric bill has been reduced by 6,000 Euros per month.

Madrid, June 9, 2011, The Galician Plymouth Rubber Tapes company, based in the town of O'Porriño (Pontevedra) has got a monthly saving of more than 6.000 Euros in its electric bill, due to install automatic capacitors banks which reduce the charge for the use of reactive power.

With the installation of these equipments to improve the power factor, the Galician headquarters of the U.S. company will reduce its annual electricity bill around 73.000 Euros.

Aener Energia is the Spanish company has carried out the project of manufacturing and installation of automatic capacitor banks, which are able to create a capacitive reactive power and annul the inductive one (which is punished).

The small and medium companies, the most affected by the surcharge of reactive power

Since January 2010, the customers with contracts of more than 10 kW have seen their electric bill has increased the surcharge which punishes the use of reactive power.

The small and medium companies and medium and big industry are among those affected by this increase, since their activities include certain machinery such as motors or transformers that to produce their work are creating electric and magnetic fields. It is in this process where they are consuming inductive reactive energy.

Installation in O'Porriño (Pontevedra)

The equipments installed by Aener Energia in Plymouth Rubber Tapes -O'Porriño- consist of one automatic capacitor bank 4500 series. It is special equipment that compensates the power factor in those installations’ loads with harmonic problems.
